Jaguar Ocarina by Nash Tavewa
Experience the perfect blend of music and art with the Jaguar Ocarina by Nash Tavewa. Handcrafted from terra cotta clay, each piece is an individual testament to artisanal craftsmanship and musical innovation.
Measuring 4" in width and 2 1/2" in height, this five-hole ocarina is compact yet mighty. It is meticulously sculpted into the form of a realistic, colorful jaguar, making it not just a musical instrument, but also a striking work of art.
Each Jaguar Ocarina undergoes a rigorous process to achieve its final form. After careful sculpting, it is tuned to perfection before being subjected to a 12-hour firing process. This procedure ensures a durable finish and a unique, resonant sound that distinguishes it from other ocarinas.
The creator, Nash Tavewa, hails from the Bene Xidza (People of the Clouds), modernly known as "Zapotec". He is part of a long lineage of master ceramic artists specialized in traditional Zapotec pottery. With each Jaguar Ocarina, you're not just purchasing a musical instrument; you're acquiring a piece of rich Zapotec heritage.
