With or Without Additional Private Sessions: Fridays in June at 11 a.m.–1 p.m. CT [6/2-6/30]

The heart of the modern Native American flute is largely rooted in improvisation. And while it's great when we first learn to play, it can also leave us feeling lost and limited when creating fresh and exciting sounds. Maybe you feel like everything you play sounds the same, or you feel pressure to keep the audience engaged after just a minute or two of playing.

Believe me, I've been there too! But don't worry; with my SGL Program, you'll have access to the tools and workflows that helped me break out of that cycle and harness the inspiration I needed to create complete and robust improvisations.

Whether you want to polish your sound, increase your proficiency with the Native American flute, or create more dynamic and captivating improvisations, this program is perfect! As your instructor, I'll guide you through a personalized journey that includes various techniques like playing with rhythm, exploring new scales, perfecting your breathwork, and experimenting with embellishment choices and placements.

And let me tell you, I understand the ruts and lulls in playing the Native American flute. But with my program, you'll receive professional feedback and support from both myself and your peers during each session, ensuring that you're getting the guidance you need to grow as a flute player.

Additionally, we offer an optional package that includes three 30-minute private sessions with me, providing extra support tailored to your needs. Every session is video recorded and shared with participants, allowing you to review and learn at your own pace. If you can't make a session, don't worry - you'll receive the recording and any homework assigned until July 30th.

Seats for this exclusive program are limited to just 10 participants per session, so don't hesitate to sign up. Invest in yourself and discover new ways to express yourself through the Native American flute with my SGL Program.

Availability

At this time there is only ONE time option for this current SGL. If you signup for the option with three additional private sessions, you will be sent a link to schedule those private lessons independently.

This round of SGL Sessions starts on Friday, June 2 at 11 a.m. Central Time and meets every week via Zoom until June 30th.

    • Friday, June 16, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. CT
    • Friday, June 23, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. CT
    • Friday, June 30, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. CT

Your one-time fee of $250 covers all sessions and any materials that I provide you as resources so you can get the most out of this experience.

Get Extra Support

Because I've gotten many student requests, I'm adding an option for extra support and 1:1 time. This time can be focused on the work you're doing in the SGL or on something that isn't covered in the program. It's up to you! Your one-time fee of $400 covers all group sessions, any materials I provide you, and three 30-minute private sessions.

Every group session will be video recorded and shared with you so you can continue growing. If you cannot make one of these meetings, you will receive the recording and any homework for that period. The recordings will be made available until July 30th.

There are only 10 seats available for each SGL program and we do anticipate them to sell out. The last sessions were filled and we started a waiting list.

After you checkout, you will receive a PDF via email. This PDF has all the information that you'll need to access the group zoom meetings. Within one week of our first session, I will reach out with more information and expectations.

About Small Group Lessons (SGLs):

SGLs are designed to help flute players achieve a pre-determined goal while working in a small cohort alongside like-minded individuals. This learning style is one of the most affordable and direct learning methods. Most of the programming offered in this way will be conducted through five, 90-120 minute Zoom sessions.

I love this group lesson. Jonny gives personal attention to each participant.
I am not able to travel by myself anymore, so the way to learn more is to Zoom
with Jonny.

Tis caush

Tis caush: in Indian means greetings. It's what they say when you meet up with each other. And that's what I felt when I was in class with all of you. it was a wonderful get together. I learned so much from each one of you some more than others. it was a wonderful class and I love the way Johnny picked us apart but in a good sense. He was able to tell us what we were doing and what we weren't doing. with that I found it invaluable and hope that I can take those things and put them into my music to make me a better player. That it was well worth the money and well worth the time. It forced me to consentrate on practice rather than just noodling.

Accountability for my practice was invaluable!

I’ve been playing for a few years and started to wonder what I was really doing. Having Jonny listen to my compositions and provide feedback was just what I needed after playing in a vacuum alone for some time. Working on a new improvisation each week and having feedback on taking it the next step, while being encouraged to leave my “safe zone”, default style of playing, released me from the box I was keeping myself in. I discovered a new voice/style for my playing that has me flying high with ideas for future musical creations. The week to week assignments provide a call to accountability that can really grow ones playing if you are willing to take up the challenge. The small group of students made for a really cozy and supportive group. No reason to be shy here! So glad I participated in this!
