Horizons Signature Drone Flute [G 440Hz] – Native American Style Flute
Horizons Signature Drone Flute – Falcon Flutes G Drone
The Dana Ross G Drone is a beautifully crafted instrument designed for depth, flexibility, and expressive play. Made from Alaskan yellow cedar, the body offers a warm, resonant tone with excellent clarity and response. The Claro walnut block and mouthpiece add both visual contrast and tonal balance, giving the flute a grounded yet open voice.
This flute is thoughtfully detailed with lapis inlay around the mouthpiece, offering a subtle but striking accent, and a Horizons logo inlay near the foot of the flute, marking its designation as the Horizons 2026 Flute of the Year.
On the drone side, the flute features three harmony holes, allowing you to actively shape and change the harmonic texture while you play. You can open or close individual holes to explore different harmonic colors, remove all three for a fuller harmony drone, or play it in a harmony drone configuration. This flexibility makes the flute equally suited for meditative playing, layered compositions, and dynamic musical exploration.
Tuned to concert pitch (440 Hz) in the key of G, this flute blends seamlessly with other instruments while maintaining a deeply expressive solo voice. The drone chamber adds richness and sustain, encouraging slower phrasing, intentional breath, and spacious musical expression.
With its thoughtful design and limited availability, this flute is meant to be a long-term companion for players who value tone, craftsmanship, and the ability to explore sound beyond a single voice.
