Instrument Discovery: Native Flute
Come curious. Hear it. Try it. Discover what connects with you.
Instrument Discovery is a hands-on evening at Horizons Sounds created for anyone who wants to experience instruments beyond simply seeing them on a shelf.
During Instrument Discovery: Native Flute, we'll spend time exploring how Native flutes work, the sounds they can create, what makes one flute different from another, and what to listen for when choosing an instrument of your own.
We'll be joined by Jonny Lipford, Native flute performer, recording artist and educator, who will guide the evening with live demonstrations, practical insight and plenty of room for questions.
You'll hear different flutes, learn how key, size, tuning, wood and construction can affect the playing experience, and have opportunities to spend time with the instruments yourself. You don't need any musical background or previous experience. Curiosity is enough.
