The Buffalo Song is an original song by Jonny Lipford on the Native American flute and is part of the Flute Scales + Simple Rhythms Series on YouTube.

The songs in this series are meant to put a certain musical scale into action and combine them with a simple rhythm. This allows the flute player to integrate new note combinations into their everyday playing and sharing of music while learning to play along with simple rhythms. 

What's included in this Resource Pack? 

You'll receive the following items in this pack: 

  • A simple (non-embellished) version of the sheet music [PDF] with finger diagrams. 
  • The Single of the original recording [MP3].
  • The Rhythm Backing Track that you hear in the song.
  • A Scale Sheet of the Basic Scale (the scale used in this particular song).

A wonderfully meditative song.

I really enjoy the Buffalo Song. It is a wonderfully meditative tune. I also like that it only uses the basic pentatonic notes, which also makes it easy to play.

I play the full recorded version thru an app that can change the pitch of the playback which allows me to play along on my F# flute.

It is also an easy tune to harmonize with, either by making up your own harmonies or by playing a different part of the song while the original is playing through the song. It is a lot of fun.

I highly recommend the Buffalo Song. I bought a second copy for my friend!

Buffalo song package, I’m really enjoying the music, the backtracking and the sheet music: all is excellent to follow. Would highly recommend this to anybody trying something new!

Beautiful song, Great Resource Pack

I absolutely love the Buffalo Song, and it is my intention to be able to play this song on the NAF. I would love to see this song on an E Course like the two SongBook E Courses that you have created. I would definitely purchase the E Course. I play the Buffalo song on Loop and listen to it over and over. I also listen to Amazing Grace played by Jonny Lipford as well. If it is possible, I would love to see a Video play along E course on this song as well. I have learned so much from watching Jonny Lipford videos, and I thank you for all that you do to educate fellow flute players, and people like me who are new to playing music on the NAF.
