Island Flutes Bamboo Series [A4] Native American-Style Flute

I've had difficulty finding an affordable flute in the key of A that I like the sound of. Most of the time, I don't resonate with this key for Native flutes. However, I'm happy to report that this Island Bamboo flute has a unique enough quality and sweet voice, that I feel I've found a Key of A flute that I can genuinely appreciate and enjoy playing. The sound effects from bamboo set it apart from wood flutes, and that seems to lend to its uniqueness. Compared to other flutes I own, this flute does not have a lot of back pressure (and I prefer back pressure), but I am not struggling to adapt to it. Every flute I've ever owned has its own idiosyncrasies that need to be learned, and it's not hard to figure out how to work with this one. Also, it does not easily wet out and that is remarkable. Overall, I am happy with this purchase and satisfied with the sound.

I bought these in all four keys for their sound quality. The bamboo sound is sweet and clear, even at the higher registers, and the flutes are very light weight and easy to play for small hands. Very nicely made and appointed. I'm happy. Thanks to Jonny for getting great flutes.

Well as soon as I picked up this beauty I knew it would be right. My 1st A flute as a flute newbie. I could play it right away and the sound is lovely!!! Reminds me of the Fla Keys whenever I pick it up to play. Holes are small and bamboo is great. I feel the warm breezes now..... Pat Blair

I love the tone on this flute - it is very sweet and mellow, but also clear. As a beginner I’ve found it very easy to play, and it also stays on key played quietly. It also does the high octave easily and takes a long time to wet out.

The bottom notes were sweet but the last two on the pentatonic scale struggled to be consistent for me. I like the timbre of the bamboo and the tuning up to the top half of the flute was spot on.
